1080p With No HDMI Cables?

True or False: An HDMI cable Is the only way to send a 1080p video signal to your TV or projector?

If you had asked me that question this time last year I would have said absolutely 100% true.

But 1080p technology is changing very quickly. And thankfully it is becoming more and more affordable.
Introducing the HDMI Balun That Works With Cat5 & Cat6

A balun is basically an impedance transformer that allows you to send a signal that requires a certain impedance value (such as 75 ohm for video) over a cable that has a different impedance (such as CAT5 that only has 100 ohm impedance). You will need one at each end, one to transform the original impedance to the impedance of the cable and the other to transform it back to the original impedance.

* The HDMI Balun is built to work on standard unshielded cat5e/ cat6 phone or data wire.
* It can transmit a 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p video signal up to 150 ft
* Transmits audio & video signal just like an HDMI cable
* Requires (2) cat5e cables
* Perfect for retro jobs where you where not able to run HDMI cables before but have (2) cat5e/ cat 6 available
* Perfect for longer runs. HDMI cables tend to lose signal strength over 50 feet. You will not have to worry about that with the 1080p balun.
